- זַלְדְּקַןm. (a comp. of זל, v. זלל, a. דְּקַן) thin-bearded, one with a downy beard. Snh.100b (a citation fr. Ben Sira) ז׳ קורטמן (Ms. M. דלדקן, Var. דל דקן, זיל ד׳ , v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) a thin-bearded person is sharp-minded. Y.Taan.IV, beg.67b; Y.Meg.IV, 75c top הוה מעבר ז׳ removed one with a downy beard (from pronouncing the priestly benediction).
